Overview

A comprehensive assessment evaluating the maturity of business process optimization and re-engineering capabilities across 54 questions and 9 capability domains. It measures how well your organization discovers, improves, controls, and transforms its business processes using proven methodologies including Lean, Six Sigma, and digital enablement. Written for the Process Excellence Lead or COO who needs to answer: do we have a systematic, measurable capability to improve processes, or do we rely on ad-hoc projects and individual heroics?

Detailed Description

Every organization has processes. Most organizations believe their processes work well because the work gets done. But 'getting done' is not the same as 'getting done efficiently, reliably, and at the lowest cost.' This assessment evaluates whether your organization has the governance, methodology, skills, measurement, and culture needed to systematically discover waste, eliminate variation, automate intelligently, and continuously improve.

The model covers nine dimensions: governance and strategy (who owns improvement and how it connects to business goals), process discovery (mapping, mining, and understanding current state), Lean waste elimination (eight wastes, value streams, flow, pull), Six Sigma analytical improvement (DMAIC, root cause analysis, statistical control), digital enablement (automation, integration, workflow enforcement), performance measurement (KPIs, visual management, benchmarking), change management (adoption, communication, training), people and culture (skills distribution, empowerment, Kaizen), and process innovation (transformation, technology, end-to-end redesign).

The assessment is designed for organizations at any maturity level, from those just beginning to formalize improvement practices to those seeking to optimize an established process excellence function.

Assessment Details

Audience

Process Excellence Lead, Head of Operational Excellence, COO, VP Operations, BPO Program Manager, CI Director, Lean Six Sigma deployment leaders.

Purpose

Identifies strengths and gaps across every dimension of process improvement capability. Shifts improvement from ad-hoc, hero-driven projects to a structured, measured, sustainable organizational capability. Provides a prioritized roadmap for building process excellence maturity.

Effort

Estimated 3-4 hours for initial assessment with a cross-functional team (process excellence, operations, IT, change management). Allow 1-2 weeks for evidence gathering. Subsequent reassessments: approximately 2-3 hours.

Cadence

Annually. Process improvement maturity evolves through project cycles and organizational learning. Annual assessment captures meaningful progress.
